Through networking, Api-Support is striving to bring together all of the beekeeping value chain stakeholders across Tanzania.

Api-Support carryout specific projects for capacity building of grassroots producers to engage meaningfully in the management of apiaries, bee colonies, harvesting and hygienic handling of bee products. It also builds capacity of traders and processors on value addition and diversification of bee products; to ensure hygienic handling safe and quality processing; proper packaging and branding for local and export market. Regulatory bodies and market require safe and quality products, as well as certification for the same. Api-Support facilitates stakeholders to learn, practice and increase the managerial skills of their entities. Supported activities include group formation, training, coaching and mentoring on routine production/value addition practices and reading them for specific certification.
Policy Advocacy

Various means are employed including negotiations and mediating dialogues through which influential networks, opinion leaders and ultimately decision makers take ownership of the ideas, evidence and proposals and subsequently act upon them for the betterment of the beekeeping sector in Tanzania.
Linkages to Development Partners (DP)
Api-Support prepare specific project proposals to secure funding from local as well as international development partners for the implementation of activities aimed at capacity building for its members and other value chain actors. On the other hand, Api-Support may work on behalf of the DP as a service provider for a specific project to members/sector stakeholders.
Business Support
For smallholder beekeepers securing funding for investing in beekeeping activities is a serious challenge. In this case Api-Support mobilizes the formation of credit and savings organizations by producers to facilitate their own savings and capital formation for investing in their beekeeping activities. Api-Support maintain social platforms as a communication means to facilitate exchange of information and ideas between producers, traders and customers.

Promoting Forest Conservation for Sustainable Beekeeping
We believe that thriving forests mean thriving bees—and thriving communities. Our work supports forest ecosystem conservation as a key pillar of sustainable beekeeping. Forests provide rich, diverse forage for bees and serve as vital habitats that sustain strong, healthy colonies.
By empowering local communities to practice beekeeping in and around forested areas, we create meaningful incentives to protect trees and biodiversity. Beekeeping offers a sustainable, non-destructive source of income, helping reduce pressures like deforestation and charcoal burning.
With support from our partners and donors, we work to raise awareness, build local capacity, and promote forest-friendly practices. Together, we are strengthening community livelihoods while conserving ecosystems critical to climate resilience and food security.
Every hive nurtured in a protected forest is a step toward a more sustainable future—for people, bees, and the planet.
